Return of Kong Megaways is a video slot with six reels, and up to seven rows as well as 324 to 117,649 ways to win. The number of ways is randomly determined for every spin with the game engine selecting between two and seven pay symbols for reels one and six as well as two to six pay symbols for reels two to five. Additionally, the game has an extra reel at the top of the game window with four positions, extending from reel two to five, where more symbols appear on every spin.

Wins are paid for adjacent symbols from left to right only. The symbols from a winning combination will start a chain reaction that will see them explode to make room for new symbols to drop into place. The spin sequence continues as long as a new winning combination occurs after a reaction.

Fans of the original King Kong Cash slot will know what to expect in terms of graphics and animations. The reels are set against a dense, jungle backdrop with Kong this time standing on the right instead of snoozing most of the time on the left. He will still throw golden barrels at the reels in the random feature which will turn into mystery symbols. The original set of hilarious characters has also made it to the Megaways reels.

Blueprint has kept the pay symbol set, featuring card royals from 9 to A at the low end. A single six of a kind pays 1x to 1.5x your stake. They are followed by cartoon parrots, tigers, rhinos and King Kong himself at the high level. Pays for a 6OAK range from 2x to 50x your bet.

There is also a wild symbol appearing in the horizontal reel only and substituting for all pay symbols except scatters and golden barrels. The scatters are four different icons spelling the word KONG. All four have to be in view to trigger the free spins. Last but not least, golden barrels are the mystery symbol on the slot.

Return of Kong Megaways Slot Features

Just like on the original, Kong will throw randomly a golden barrel at the reels on any spin in the base game. This will add up to 100 mystery symbols to the current spin. Any landing in view will unveil a common pay symbol. The feature can trigger on every free spin.

Having the four scatters spelling K-O-N-G in view at the end of a spin sequence will trigger 12 free spins. Any further scatter will show a +5 free spins symbol. Final Verdict

The onslaught of Megaways slots continues and what makes matters worse is that Blueprint Gaming seems to have stopped being creative. After Fishing Frenzy, Return of Kong Megaways is the second slot based on one of their existing titles. Admittedly, King Kong Cash is an awesome slot but simply throwing it into a Megaways engine does not necessarily make it any better. Plus, all features bar the Golden Monkeys have been used ad absurdum. Maybe time for Blueprint to think of some new things.
