The Bomb is a 5×5 grid slot with cluster pays and a tumbling symbols mechanic. Wins are awarded for clusters of five or more matching symbols landing horizontally and/or vertically connected. All symbols from a winning cluster will explode to make room for new ones to cascade into place, potentially creating new winners. The process is repeated until no new winning combos land after a tumble. You can set off bombs on desktop and mobile from 0.20 to 100 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with a rather low RTP of 95.17%.

Set against a blurred scenery of rock formations in a vast desert, the game window is dominated by explosive icons such as TNT crates, dynamite bundles and fireworks. A soundtrack with drumbeats conveys the feeling of a ticking bomb, ready to set off explosive crescendos on winning spins and bomb blasts.

The pay symbols start with a range of geometrical shapes – blue triangle, green square, yellow hexagon, orange circle and red diamond – awarding 20x to 24x your bet for clusters of 15 or more matching symbols. The Bomb Slot Features

At the start of a spin sequence, 25 symbols cascade onto the 5×5 grid. Hit a cluster of five or more symbols and you have a winner. All in the combo will explode and new symbols tumble into the empty spaces, providing the opportunity to win again and again in a single spin. TNT crates can land repeatedly on any spin in the base game or after a fresh cascade within the same sequence. When they do, they will explode and clear up to a 3×3 pattern on the grid to let new symbols drop into the spaces. The explosion will set off once no more cluster wins occur.

While setting off bombs, keep an eye on the yellow Progress Bar on top of the grid. All symbols from winning clusters and TNT blasts are collected and filling up the meter with 62 symbols will trigger Mr Bomb. He will ignite a big reel explosion and award a one-time extra coin win of 500x your total bet.

Hitting three gree powder keg scatters anywhere on the grid within the same spin sequence will trigger the Bonus Game. Mr Bomb will lead to a new grid with only stone blocks and wooden mystery crates. The feature has no set amount of rounds, instead, it will cascade repeatedly until the entire screen is filled with wooden crates. The crates can be empty or reveal a prize. All will fall to the bottom before the next cascade drops more rocks and crates. The process is repeated until all positions are filled. Here’s what the crates will reveal unless they are empty.

• Blue – Bet Multiplier: Awards a bet multiplier of +1, +2, +3, +4, +5 or +10
• Red – Added Multiplier: Multiplies the accumulated bet multiplier up until the icon is collected by x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10. For example, if one lands on the top of reel three, then it will multiply the accumulated value from reel one and two by the displayed multiplier. All following bet multipliers will not be multiplied unless you have more on the subsequent reels.

Final Verdict

The Bomb is a fine addition to the Pocketz series from Hacksaw Gaming. The creative team continued their out-of-the-box approach to entertaining slots with surprising twists and high win potential. The features on The Bomb work well together to create a smooth flow in the gameplay while the top prize in the bonus round will provide some extra nailbiting moments. The only slight disappointment is the rather low RTP value.
