IGT is the giant in the gaming industry, land based and online. This is the company anyone has to beat if they want to become the top supplier in the world. Especially in the US, it is estimated that about 50% of all slot cabinets are from IGT. Founded in 1975 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the company with over 12,000 employees in more than 100 countries across the globe generates yearly revenues in excess of $4 billion.

They are a comprehensive supplier of slot machines, slot cabinets, lotteries, online slots, social gaming solutions as well as gaming software and technology. It is difficult to find something related to the gaming industry, that IGT is not capable of supplying.
To complete the history, we have to look at the events and acquisitions of the past decade. The last transaction was IGT being taken over by GTECH Corporation, a US gaming technology company, after which they retained the name IGT. Earlier, GTECH was acquired by Lottomatica from Italy, they themselves deciding to take on the name GTECH. With each transaction, the footprint of the company has grown larger, ending in being the huge corporation that IGT is today.
