Solve the case and you could be rewarded with wins of up to 1,250 times your bet.
Slot Details
Cash Noire is a video slot with a 5×4 format with 1,024 ways to win. Pays are awarded for three to five matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right only. You can assist Detective Tom Flint in solving the mysterious crime case on desktop or mobile from 0.20 to 200 credits per spin. The game has low to medium volatility with an RTP of 96.06%.
Loading the game will take you inside the infamous Cat’s Eye bar, a dark room where illegal card games are played and disputes are solved with a fistfight. That is until one morning when the body of a man was found with a Green Ace card tucked neatly between his teeth. The chase is on in the free spins round, taking you out of the bar and into the eery streets of San Cayetano where you will be joining Detective Tom Flint on a car chase to hunt down the Green Ace murderer and solve the case. A suspenseful soundtrack inspired by the 1930s and the voice of the detective will keep you on your toes as you close in on the target.
The pay symbols start at the low end with a magnifying glass, a matchbook, an Ace of Spades, a filled whiskey glass, a knife and a detective colt, awarding 0.20x to 0.30x your bet for a single five of a kind. They are followed by the bar owner Lola Leclair, the detective Tom Flint, the mobster Pit Viper and the bar’s Femme Fatale. Hit five across the reels to win 1x to 4x your stake. There is no wild or scatter symbol on the reels but a steel safe with a question mark that acts as the mystery symbol.
Cash Noire Slot Features
There’s a lot to go through on this slot as NetEnt tried its best to bring the storyline of the Green Ace murders that have been happening at the Cat’s Eye bar in San Cayetano. They decided to reutilize their famous Avalanche reel mechanic that rose to prominence on their iconic Gonzo’s Quest slot, only that now it is applied across a 5×4 reel set with 1,024 ways to win.
At the start of a spin sequence, 20 symbols will drop onto the grid to potentially form winning combinations. Any combo will see the winning symbols shatter and disappear to make room for new ones to avalanche into place. Score another winner and the process is repeated up to the moment were no new wins occur after an avalanche.
The next part of the murder chase is the Crime Zone which is marked in glowing red on the reels. It may randomly change the pattern and/or move between spins but will always start with a size of three horizontally and/or vertically connected symbols. Any winning symbol landing in the marked zone will unlock a clue on the Clue List to the left of the screen (desktop). Activating 3-6 clues will increase the Crime Zone to 4 symbols while more than 7 clues will expand it further to 5 symbols. The Free Spins feature will be triggered should you collect 13 or more clues.
Coming to your aid when the going gets tough in the base game and free spins is the Mystery symbol. Only one can land at a time on the reels, revealing a pay symbol once the dust settles. However, should it land within the Crime Zone, then it will clone itself throughout the entire active pattern and unveil a common pay symbol, providing extra potential to score a win and keep the avalanches coming.
Collecting 13 clues within a single spin sequence will trigger 6 Free Spins with a starting win multiplier at x1, which cannot be retriggered as such but you will have the chance to collect extra spins as the round progresses. The first difference you will notice is the expanded Crime Zone which will cover five spots throughout the feature. It will keep the pattern from the triggering spin but may randomly move between free spins.
A City Chase Map will replace the Clue List on the left of the game window (desktop), displaying a police car and progression points that will award extra free spins and multipliers. Symbols landing in the Crime Zone pattern that are part of a winning combo unlock the same amount of locations on the City Chase map. Advancing the car by 13 locations will award +2 free spins. In turn, the win multiplier will increase by x1 for every seven locations until it reaches the final spot on the map. With the case solved, the multiplier will increase one more time to x10 and another +3 free spins are added to the current tally. The round ends when you run out of free spins.
Final Verdict
What a fabulous slot! Stunning visuals and a compelling storyline are combined with NetEnt’s Avalanche mechanic and a hair-raising chase through the dark streets of San Cayetano in the free spins. You could almost say a perfect slot but it is quite a letdown when it comes to the win potential, which will appeal at best to recreational players.
You can actually score 5,000 times your bet but the odds are excruciatingly low at 1:1,9 trillion spins (not a typo), hence, why we mentioned only the more realistic value of 1,250x which has been observed on average every 159 million spins. A rather low reward for all the hard work chasing down the Green Ace murderer. Still, I can see it delivering wins in the 100x to 250x on a more regular basis which might put hardcore slotting folks off from joining the detective on his chase.
