Slot Details
Mystery Museum is a video slot with five reels, three rows and 10 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for three to five matching symbols on a line from left to right only. You can dare to enter the harrowing museum on desktop and mobile from 0.10 to 100 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with an RTP of 96.58%. Always using the best strategy for the Power Gamble feature will increase the value to 97.04%.
Loading the game will see you entering a mysterious museum with an assortment of artefacts from various cultures and corners of the planet. Scant sunrays protruding through a window in the background light up statues, totem poles, masks and old scriptures. A moody soundtrack is accompanied by the usual reel and win count noises.
The pay symbols start at the low end with four mythical artefacts in brown, green, gold and red colours, awarding 2x to 4x your bet for a single five of a kind. They are followed by three vases, a Medusa plate, a warrior helmet and the mask of Tutankhamun. Hit five on a line to win 10x to 500x your stake. A Samurai bust is the wild and scatter symbol, substituting for all pay symbols and also yielding 500x bet for five across the reels.
Mystery Museum Slot Features
Push Gaming is not exactly known for releasing new slots at breakneck speed and seems to take its sweet time to get the next creation into casino lobbies. The results are high-quality games with refined visuals and surprising features that engage players and provide mega win potential. Mystery Museum was announced for the first time in June 2019 with the preliminary release scheduled for the end of August 2020. Reason enough to take a closer look at whether the long development period has produced another marvel in slot design.
The gameplay is rather simple and fast-paced unless minimum three Mystery Stacks land on a spin in full or partial view. They will always nudge to cover the entire reel and reveal a randomly selected common pay symbol to award pay-anywhere wins on all 10 lines, regardless of whether the symbols are on adjacent reels from left to right. However, they will never reveal Wild Samurai scatter symbols.
Hitting three, four or five Wild Samurai scatters anywhere on the reels will trigger 8, 10 and 12 Free Spins respectively, which cannot be retriggered. Any Mystery Stack landing on a free spin will nudge and lock in place for the remainder of the feature. Having stacks on all five reels will result in a full-screen pay for each of the remaining free spins. Revealing the top symbol once that happened will pay a cool 5,000x your bet for a full screen.
With Mystery Museum, Push Gaming is also unveiling their new Power Gamble feature. Any win greater or equal to 2x, 5x, 10x, 25x and 50x can be gambled for higher winnings or a feature trigger. Once the total win from the gamble reaches or exceeds 100x bet, then the game will offer to take the winnings or exchange 100x for a feature trigger with any surplus being paid out.
The gamble is played with four cards marked with a checkmark or a cross. The aim is to select a card with a checkmark and progress on the gamble ladder. Before picking a card, you have to choose the odds at 1:4, 2:4 or 3:4. The higher the odds the lower the winnings and progress speed on the ladder, which is shown on the left of the gamble window. A pop-up will appear once you reach the top offering you to collect all winnings or exchange 100x for a feature trigger.
Two strategic decisions will get you a slightly higher RTP of 97.04% in the long run. The Best Strategy is to always gamble with 3:4 odds and once you reach the top to always collect the winnings.
Final Verdict
Well, did the long development period deliver the goods on Mystery Museum? I am not totally convinced as it is basically a 10-liner with mystery symbols and a free spins round. What sets it apart from others is the Power Gamble that will be welcomed by hardcore slotting nerds as it provides those extra suspense moments. Overall, well designed but a little light on excitement compared to the likes of Jammin’ Jars or Razor Shark.
