In 2012, three former NetEnt and Unibet executives joined their creative power and experience in the gaming industry to form Quickspin. With a passion for high-quality and entertaining games, they set up offices in Stockholm, Sweden and started rolling out truly innovative masterpieces of slot machines. Although still small in size compared to some of the big market players, the company quickly advanced to a recognized supplier of engaging slots for online casinos and social gaming. The rise to stardom was underlined with numerous prestigious EGR Awards as early as just two years after their foundation. It also attracted the attention of other providers, resulting in gaming giant Playtech acquiring Quickspin in 2016 for €50 million. Rather respectable for a four-year-old game studio.
The Quickspin journey took off towards the end of 2012 with the release of their first slots called The Epic Journey and Sinbad. With the industry background of the founding members, they were able to place their games from the start at numerous reputable online casino sites. That literally surged within months and today their games are available at most casino hangouts. Offering their slots only in regulated markets after obtaining licenses from a variety of jurisdictions ensured that their games are at all times tested and fair. Focusing on the latest standard, their games were soon developed in the modern HTML5 format, while older Flash designs were ported, making nearly 100% of their games available on all desktop and mobile devices across all OS platforms
Their journey continued with more impeccable slot designs that saw the relatively small studio expanding its footprint within Europe and beyond. Along the way, they released some head-turning creations such as The Three Musketeers, Razortooth and Spinions. The Big Bad Wold slot earned them in 2014 an EGR Operator Award. They were though resting on their laureates and kept on producing some truly stunning video slots. Phoenix Sun, released in 2016, is such an example. It starts as your usual five-reel, three-row slot with 243 win ways and expands to a massive six rows and 7,776 ways to win when players hit consecutive winning spins.
Their most exciting recent releases include Volcano Riches, Eastern Emeralds, Big Bot Crew and Ark of Mystery, each with a distinct pay mechanic and unique bonus features. Eastern Emeralds particularly stands out from the crowd with a maximum win multiplier peaking at x1,680 in the bonus round while the win potential in a single spin equals a massive 12,600x the initial stake.
