The main audio is the sound of falling rocks as the symbols tumble onto the grid, interrupted by metallic thumps when winning clusters occur.

Gustav Minebuster Slot Features

Core to the gameplay is the cascading symbol mechanic. Instead of spinning reels, the slot will cascade 64 symbols onto the grid at the beginning of every spin. A cluster of five or more matching symbols or in combination with wilds will award wins according to the paytable. Any winning cluster will disappear, making room for more symbols to tumble into place. The spin sequence will continue until no new winning clusters occur.

Any Gustav wilds landing will stay on the grid until the end of a round and move to an adjacent position after each winning cascade. All wilds in view are held in place when a collapse occurs and override any new dropping pay symbols. The kicker is though the attached unlimited multiplier. It increases by x1 every time a wild is part of a winning cluster. Multipliers from different wilds are multiplied by each other. The multiplier will not increase if they are not part of a winning combo but will stay in position until the end of the spin sequence.

The Dynamite bundle in the bottom left corner can light up at any time after a losing spin or when no new winning clusters appear. One or two sticks will be thrown onto the reels, transforming a random cluster into matching symbols. Cascades continue after any potential wins have been paid.

While digging for gems, don’t forget to keep an eye on the meter to the left. Scoring one or more winning clusters after a cascade will illuminate one bar. You will need to hit minimum five, six or seven consecutive winning cascades to trigger 6, 7 and 8 Free Spins respectively. Before the round starts, three Gustav wilds are placed on random positions on the reels. The wild multiplier will increase in a similar fashion as in the base game but the difference is that the wilds will not disappear at the end of a spin sequence. Instead, they stay on the grid until the end of the round, increasing the multiplier every time they are part of a combo and moving to adjacent positions after each cascade.

Final Verdict

Jammin’ Jars anyone? Push Gaming created a true blockbuster slot that has been copied by a few providers. The last one was Blueprint Gaming with Dragon Fall and now we have Red Rake Gaming taking the immensely popular game as inspiration. While visually it looks very different, the mechanics are very similar and the win potential is with a cap of 20,000x bet an exact match. The design is not as refined and flawless but the game can be a good alternative, especially for players in regions where Push Gaming is restricted.
