Nevertheless, simply slapping a Megaways engine onto such an iconic slot wouldn’t cut the mustard and Red Tiger dug deep into their creative chests to include much of the old features and charm while also adding a few new twists that perfectly fit the storyline of the comical conquistador.

At the core of the gameplay is still the Avalanche mechanic Gonzo fans will know from the original, only that everything appears now supersized. A spin sequence starts with two to seven symbols avalanching on to each reel, creating anything from 64 to 117,649 ways to win. Land three to six matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right and you have a winner. All symbols in the combo will shatter while the remainder drops towards the bottom before new symbols cascade into the empty spaces. Score another winner and the process repeats until no new winning combination lands after an avalanche.
