Review
Enter the fantasy world of the Mystic Wheel on the slot from Red Tiger Gaming, a rather simple but fast-paced game that can pack quite a punch in the bonus round. A random Wheel Activator and a bonus game will be your path to spin the mighty wheel with a range of prizes that can amount to a total of up to 10,000 times your bet.
Slot Details
Mystic Wheel is a video slot with five reels, four rows and 30 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for three to five matching symbols on a line from left to right only. Playable on any desktop and mobile device, it comes with bet sizes from 0.20 to 10 credits per spin. The RTP of this high variance game is set at 96.16%.
Looking at the slot, it is rather unclear what kind of theme the designers at Red Tiger Gaming had in mind. Going after the title, the visuals should convey an air of mystique. We decided on a scene from a fantasy world with mythological ornaments and pay symbols. The mighty wheel that holds the key to mega wins on this game can be seen turning slowly in the background of the game window. The entire screen will start shaking violently when the random feature is triggered. A heroic soundtrack heightens the suspense only to be interrupted by sudden thumps when scatters land on the reels.
The slot has eight regular pay symbols, which can appear stacked, plus a scatter but no wild symbols. The low end is populated by the card suits – clubs, hearts, diamonds and spades while at the high level you will find keys, rings, amulets and huge shiny diamonds. Pays for a five of a kind peak at 10x your stake, putting the maximum win in the base game at a rather low 300x your bet for a full screen of diamonds. The slot logo itself is the scatter symbol.
Mystic Wheel Slot Features
No doubt, the big money on this slot is in the Mystic Wheel bonus game. You have two ways to trigger it. Either you land three to five scatters organically on a spin or the random Wheel Activator (what a name!) triggers at the start of a spin. The screen will go blank with only scatters left on the reels. More scatters are added for the feature, significantly increasing the chance of triggering the bonus game. Our test runs, however, showed that more often it actualy won’t, which renders the random feature a rather useless undertaking. But we get it, the shaking of the game window together with the wheel glow is creating some extra suspense moments which are very much needed since the base game is rater dull.
Well, once you have at least three scatters in view, you’ll get a number of spins on the Mystic Wheel equivalent to the amount of scatters triggering the bonus game, putting the maximum at five spins. The reels disappear to uncover a wheel with 10 segments displaying different prizes.
- Bet Multipliers: initially ranging from 2x to 10x the total bet.
- Double All: all bet multipliers on the wheel are doubled for the remaining spins.
- Multiplier Booster: displays e.g. “+4 To All”, increasing the bet multipliers by the number.
- Extra Spins: displays e.g. “+3 Spins”, awarding additional spins on the wheel, up to 77 in total
- Mystery Prize: landing on the question mark will award one of the four prizes
Final Verdict
Not really sure how to rate this slot creation from Red Tiger Gaming. The base game is boring and dull, the teasers from the Wheel Activator feature infuriating when it repeatedly fails to land sufficient scatters and the bonus game ends mostly after the initial amount of spins won from the triggering round.
We scored on average around 30x our bet on the wheel with the odd over 100x sprinkled in between but nowhere even remotely close to the maximum of 10,000 times the bet. Maybe it was just an unlucky moment. Overall, the Mystic Wheel will be good for regular medium-sized wins, which is sufficient for many players.
