The intricate design continues with the pay symbols. At the low end, they are gold coins with the card suits, paying 0.8x to 1.5x your stake for a single five of a kind. They are followed by bottles of grog, muskets, cannons, the captain’s hat and a pirate’s skull. Lining up five on a pay line will award 2x to 20x times your bet.

The slot has three types of wild symbols – random, multiplier and sticky wilds – substituting for all regular pay symbols and awarding 20x your bet when five land on a line. Scatters are an intricate tile marked with Battle Spins.

Prepare for a volatile ride as the high sea can be treacherous at times. Coming to your aid will be the Wild Monkey who can appear randomly on any spin in the base game. He will steal all low-paying symbols in view, allowing for new premium symbols to fall into place. The monkey itself will stay as a wild symbol on the position of the last removed low-paying symbol.

The game starts at every bet level with three rows and a fourth row hidden by a treasure map. Collecting map symbols in the base game will advance the ship on the map, unlocking the Wild Island Row once enough have been accumulated. At this point, the game adds multiplier wilds to all reels. These can carry a win multiplier from x1 to x5 whereas more than one in a winning combination will be added for a larger multiplier. The fourth row will remain uncovered for all future spins at the same stake. You can unlock it for all levels by accumulating the map symbols at each bet size.

Get ready for battle when you land three or more scatters anywhere on the reels in one spin which will trigger the Battle Spins. The game will award randomly 6 to 25 free spins based on how many scatters landed. The round is played on the default 5×3 reel set if the Wild Island Row was not unlocked before the triggering spin.

Two pirate ships will line up to battle it out for the golden treasures. Final Verdict

Not only did Red Tiger manage to keep the appeal and suspense from the original, they actually heightened both on Pirates’ Plenty: Battle for Gold. It was good to see the monkey returning but we were most impressed by the sticky multiplier wilds as it will lead to guaranteed mega wins when sufficient line up in the free spins round. Well worth joining Captain Blackbeard on his next sail.
