Review
Classic fruits are replaced with colourful dice on the slot from Stakelogic. Super Dice Megaways is an identical sibling to Super Wild Megaways which was released in January 2020. The game comes with six dynamic reels featuring up to 117,549 bet ways as well as wild substitutions, cascading symbols, reactive wins, Mystery Scatter Coin Prizes and a free spins round with unlimited multipliers and retriggers that can lead to wins of up to 24,635 times your stake.
Slot Details
Super Dice Megaways is a cascading video slot with six reels, featuring 2 to 7 rows and 324 to 117,649 ways to win. You can spin the dicey reels on desktop, tablet or mobile from 0.20 to 20 credits or 40 credits, based on the operator. The game has medium to high volatility with a default RTP of 96.06%. Beware, StakeLogic offers the game with a secondary RTP setting of 94.xx%, always check the help file to find out which version you will be playing.
The number of bet ways is randomly determined at the start of every spin by selecting 2 to 6 symbols for reel one and six as well as 2 to 6 symbols for the four centre reels. Additionally, an extra reel on top is spinning horizontally symbols into view abeam reels two to five. Altogether, it creates a virtually unlimited number of possible scenarios that will make each spin a unique occurrence. A display in the top left corner shows the current active ways.
Wins are awarded for two to six matching symbols landing on adjacent reels from left to right only. The symbols from a winning combination are part of a reaction which will see them explode to make room for new symbols to drop into place. This continues as long as a new winner lands after a reaction. Wins are accumulated from all cascades and paid in one amount before the next spin starts.
The graphics are largely unchanged with a blurred casino floor in the background. The main change are the dice symbols on the reels, partially with Chinese characters and replacing the classic fruit symbols from the original. The rest including soundtrack are awfully similar.
The pay symbols start at the low end with dice numbers from 1 to 6, awarding 0.8x to 1.75x your bet for a single five of a kind. The premiums are dice with Chinese characters in black, blue, green and red colours. Hit six across the reels to win 2x to 50x your stake. There three more symbols on the reels, all in form of dice – wilds marked with the word itself, a question mark for the mystery symbol and the scatter dice with SD, the acronym for the slot.
Super Dice Megaways Slot Features
Cloning a slot from its own portfolio is by no means new yet still mostly frowned upon in the player community. We expect some kind of creativity to have at least some differences between slots, something Stakelogic surely did not heed when they decided to give Super Wild Megaways only some new graphics and release it as a new game. Seeing the Chinese characters on the dice implies that this clone is directed towards our Asian gaming friends. Well, let’s take you through the features as they are not all bad.
Other than the usual Megaways action with reactive wins and tumbling reels, there is a Scatter Mystery feature to keep your suspense level elevated. Having three to six mystery dice scatters in view in one spin sequence will award a mystery prize ranging from 2x to 500x your total stake in the main game and up to 200x in the free spins. Naturally, the more scatters the higher the prizes. For example, the random prizes for three scatter range from 2x to 50x your total bet while for six scatters they start at 40x and peak at 500x.
The SW acronym on the original scatter has been replaced with SD, though you will still need four in view to trigger 12 Free Spins with each further scatter adding +5 free spins to the tally. More can be retriggered during the round, no limits. The scatters will appear in the horizontal reel only with three or four scatters awarding +5 and +10 free spins respectively. The feature starts off with the usual Megaways win multiplier of x1 which will increase by x1 after every winning reaction, again, no limits. Any mystery prizes won will be multiplied by the currently active multiplier.
The Gamble option is also included, letting you gamble any win from the base game or free spins via a coin toss, up to five times in a row or max 250 times your stake. A small bar at the bottom displays the history of your last gambles, which some players might see as a guide. We recommend some caution on using the option as losing the gamble repeatedly will have quite an impact on your playing balance.
Final Verdict
I have no other explanation for this 100% clone other than that Stakelogic trying to appeal to Asian gamers. We have seen similar games from other developers, Netent’s Who’s the Bride? AKA Dead or Alive springs to mind. However, no matter which version, I expect the max win potential of 24,635x bet will attract plenty of hopeful gamers.
