Once upon a time, WMS was the beacon of an ever-growing industry that gave the casino community creative and entertaining video slots and games. However, the once shining star started fading we the advent of online gaming. First, they missed the boat and were one of the last developers to offer their games at online casinos and what made matters worse was that it looked like they were and still are going through a creative crisis.

The last memorable slot coming from their studio was Raging Rhino which made its entrance into online casino lobbies in 2015, far too late to have some meaningful impact. The game still amassed a faithful bunch of diehard fans and today lingers around at the end of the TOP1,000 of most played slots. In 2019, WMS made a halfhearted effort to revive the popularity by giving it a Megaways makeover. The slot looks utterly dated but managed to rank quite well in the charts, mainly due to nostalgia.

Which leads us to one of their latest offerings, Enchanted Kingdom, yet another pathetic creation that will hardly lift the eyebrows among slot players. We mostly resisted writing reviews for WMS games because we strive to present our readers with the best and most entertaining games, but made an exception on this occasion as this slot is part of the Mega Drop network of progressive jackpots. While the gameplay is utterly boring with only a simple free spins round, the jackpots carry some suspense, simply because they are the type that will drop guaranteed before their balance hits a fixed threshold. Well, read on as we are taking you through this “masterpiece”.

Slot Details

Enchanted Kingdom Mega Drop is a video slot with five reels, three rows and 30 fixed pay lines. To score a win, you will need to line up two to five matching symbols on a line from left to right. You can give your best shot to do just that on desktop or mobile from 0,30 to 150 credits per spin. The game has medium variance and an RTP of 96.19%, which includes 2% for the jackpot contribution.

The rather tired-looking game engine with some dated control buttons and a generic game window that hardly ever seems to change will greet you upon loading the game. As for the graphics, well, I would say they tried. Frameless reels encased in a wooden frame stand in front of what is supposed to be the enchanted forest. A castle, as well as the three displays, stand on the right while some poorly designed pay symbols populate the reels. A somewhat enchanted soundtrack is regularly interrupted by the usual reel and win count noises.

The pay symbols are a random assortment of mainly fruits and forest creatures, starting with apples, mushrooms, raspberries, frogs and squirrels at the low end. Hit five on a line to win 3.33x to 10x your bet. They are followed by swans, treasure chests, a castle icon and the slot logo, awarding 16.66x to 100x your stake when you line up five across the reels.

The lonely princess is the wild symbol, substituting for all symbols including scatters. The king’s crown acts as the scatter on this slot.

Enchanted Kingdom Slot Features

Well, there isn’t really much to report other than the Free Spins feature and the random jackpot trigger. Hit three or more scatters in on spin to trigger 20 free spins, which can be indefinitely retriggered. The most interesting part though is that the game will pay a coin win of 5x, 20x and 500 times your total bet for three, four and five scatters respectively. And that is pretty much also the max win potential in a single spin.

During the feature, all wins are tripled and that is where the fun stops as there are no modifiers or other twists that could take you by surprise. The round will end when you run out of free spins.

The Wager Saver will come into play when your balance drops below the value of the last bet. At the cost of your remaining balance, you will be offered the chance to spin a wheel once for 1, 3, or 5x the value of that previous bet. The feature will not be offered if the remaining balance is less than 10% of the previous total bet. The chance of winning is shown by the green section of the dial for each option. If the spinner lands on the green, you win the wager.

On the right of the game window are the displays for the progressive Mega Drop Jackpots – Mini, Mega, Epic. A fixed portion of your bet totalling 2% will contribute to the jackpots. They are networked jackpots, which means that more than one game and all casinos offering the WMS slots are connected and a winner can come from any of the participating casinos.

All three jackpots will drop before a specified balance is reached – Min @ €1,500, Major @ €20,000 and Epic @ €200,000. There is no bonus game where you can play for the jackpots. Instead, you will get a pop-up message at the end of a spin should you have won a jackpot. Although they can trigger on any stake, the higher the stake, the greater chance. When a progressive jackpot is awarded, the jackpot amount is reset to a reseed value of approximately 25% of the value paid out.

Final Verdict

Unfortunately, as predicted this game has nothing new nor exciting to offer other than chasing the jackpots. I can only assume that the situation will heet up when the balances are getting close to the max threshold. Jackpot chasers might like the game as it plays like a medium variance slot – smaller wins but more often.
