888 UK Limited
Review
888 UK Limited is a leading iGaming operator with dozens of online casino brands worldwide. Based in Gibraltar, it holds licenses from the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner and the UK Gambling Commission. The 888 Group, as they are most commonly known, is one of the largest gaming entertainment operators currently running in the United Kingdom.
Formerly known as 888 Holdings PLC, 888 are a public limited company that owns, develops and successfully runs several online gaming, casino, bingo and general gambling related brands and websites. They are registered on the London stock exchange and their base of operations and head office are located in Gibraltar.
Previously known to their competitors, other related businesses and customers as Virtual Holdings Ltd, 888 are one of the longest standing providers out there, being in operation and business from as far back as 1997.
The wheels were initially put in motion by two sets of brothers, Aaron and Avi Shaked and Ron and Shey Ben-Yithak. Whilst in their development and growth stages several small setbacks were encountered such as the removal of services to customers based in the USA due to regulator changes in gaming and pokers laws and also on top of all this a merger was considered with the sports and gaming giant Ladbrokes, however, this, unfortunately, did not go ahead either due to changes whilst discussions were happening with their plan in tax laws and fears of possible reprisals from other jurisdictions.
Positive signs began to develop around about 2005 – 2006 when the business rebranded to the name seen today, namely 888. Their first up and running casino which is still around today (although now moved under the general 888 umbrella) is Casino On Net.
888 Holdings have now streamlined their separate offerings when it comes to the specific player requirements, simply divided and named as 888 Poker, 888 Sports and 888 Casino, they also have a vast offering of bingo sites which are all bespoke and carry individual designs, games and names.
Such examples of sites running under the 888 licence would include their now flagship casino 888.com, Jackpot Joy (commonly seen advertising on UK TV), Megaways Casino (named after one of the most successful slot mechanics to date), Electric Spins and Spinzaar. These are to name just a few. On top of all these, they have a large and popular bingo network some quick examples of their bingo skins and websites include, Wink Bingo, Red Bus Bingo, Tip Top Bingo, 888 Ladies, Tasty Bingo, Posh Bingo and Bounce Bingo.
As expected for such a large and time served operator, 888 Holdings have plenty on offer for players tastes and requirements, these include a simply massive sportsbook, table casino games, including live dealer games (powered by Evolution Gaming), 90 ball, bingo, 75 ball bingo and games by design such as Rainbow Riches bingo as well as a massive selection of side games and scratch cards.
Of course, they also have a colossal selection of casino games and slots from popular gaming providers which include, Big Time Gaming, Blueprint Gaming, Thunderkick, Play n’ Go, No Limit City, Greentube, Pragmatic Play, Red Rake Gaming, Microgaming and Relax gaming among many, many more.
