Core to the gameplay is still the Avalanche mechanic that cascades symbols onto the default 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways at the start of a spin sequence. Any winning combos are first paid before they shatter and disappear to make room for new symbols to drop into place.

After each winning avalanche, the expanding grid mechanic activates, adding one row to the game window and gradually increasing it from four rows and 4,096 ways until reaching the maximum of eight rows and 262,144 ways to win. Included are again Mega symbols that can create uneven reel heights during the expansion process. In the base game, the grid resets to the default size and the round concludes when no new wins occur after a fresh avalanche.

Consistent throughout the series are the Mega Symbols, which can appear in 2×2, 3×4 or 4×4 sizes at any time during a cascade and will elevate the row level if they fall on top. When creating an uneven grid configuration, the extra spaces are filled with more symbols until the required number of ways is achieved. Any empty spaces opening up below them will be filled with matching single symbols. They will explode and disappear when they become part of a winning combo.

The boxes will open to reveal various coin values or extra symbols:

• Bet Multiplier: Awards a coin value between 1x to 10x your bet
• Multiplier Symbol: Multiplies all coin values from already opened boxes but not closed ones.
• +1 Swiper: Will place a 1 in front of each Collect coin value in view, e.g. a 5x coin win turns into 15x.
• Collect: Collects all coin values from opened boxes and reactivates them
• Redrop: Will guarantee another symbol drop after all boxes have been opened, reactivating them again once no more symbol wins occur.

The feature continues until there are no more closed boxes, no further collect symbols are revealed or no further redrop is queued. All coin values are accumulated and added to the symbol wins from the game round.

Having three, four, five or six scatters in view will trigger 10, 15, 20 and 25 Free Spins respectively, which can be retriggered. The Mystery Boxes are persistent between spins until there are at least five in view for an Avalon feature trigger. The Mystery Boxes will be removed once the Avalon feature has concluded.
