We have yet again the feeling that another Microgaming slot has been produced on the cheap. A generic background holds a simple geometric reel set that lets you think at first sight that there might be four rows on the centre reels. But nope, it is the standard three. The visuals are almost too cartoonish and bring up the question of what the UKGC or other regulators thought when they approved the game for release. The only thing up til now that gives this game a good vibe is the rockabilly 50s soundtrack.
The low-value symbols are clumsily designed card royals from J through to A, each paying 1.5x bet for a five of a kind. They are followed by fully-stacked cherries, 8-balls, slot logos and wolf wilds. Pays for a five of a kind range from 6x to 20x your stake. During the free spins, the stacked wilds are replaced with standard and multiplier sticky wilds. Each landing will lock as well in place for the remaining free spins while the multiplier version increases the win multiplier by x1 for each occurrence, up to a maximum of x6. Visually, Rockabilly Wolves is just about acceptable, however, to play the slot can turn quickly into a borefest as the base game has nothing special to give. While the creations from JustForTheWin are among the better ones that are supplied to Microgaming under their partner program, they still lack an element of surprise or extra suspense. We thought the respin would make the base game at least somewhat suspenseful but we gave up after it missed to add the third scatter 12 times in a row.
