Well, let’s take a closer look at what they were able to do with it.

The base game won’t have you jumping off your seat that often unless you hit the golden super striker on multiple lines. A full screen would pay 500x your bet, respectable but not really worthy of a champion. Keeping you more often in suspense is the Golden Scatter. Only one can land on a spin and when it does, it will reveal a coin win worth 10x or 20x your total stake.

Hitting three standard or any mix of scatters will trigger the Free Spins feature. The scenery will change with only Golden Scatters on the reels. The three from the triggering spin will be locked in place while three spins are awarded to land more. Each appearing will stay on the screen as well and the spin counter reset to three. The process continues until you run of spins or all nine positions are filled with golden footballs. Each displays a bet multiplier between 1x to 50x your total stake which will be added at the end of the level.

Filling the grid will take you to the next level where the same mechanic is played again, only that this time a win multiplier of x2 is activated. Final Verdict

Not being a fan of 3×3 slots and reduced to watching football after suffering a knee injury during a game that ended my brief career as an aspiring professional footballer, I wasn’t too excited to review this NetEnt creation. But it caught my attention with the side bet that I like using as often as possible when playing Scudamore’s Super Stakes.

The bonus game turned out better than expected too, reaching often level three, although I never made it to level five in a few hours of testing. Overall, I have to admit, Super Striker wasn’t all bad and I might even give it a few spins for real money when it is released on 29th April 2020.
