Sci-fi fans prepare for an alien robot invasion on the NetEnt slot that could come straight from an E.T.-like movie. Exclusively released to Party Poker in July 2018, it went networke wide towards the end of the year. Some NetEnt fans might see it as a half-sequel to Alien Robots, a slot creation from 2013 that will not be converted to HTML5 format and will soon disappear from the casino lobbies.
Seven robots are at the centre of attention as well as a random symbol modifier that can lead to wins of up to 500 times your stake on a single spin. Unfortunately, that’s it, no free spins or bonus game on this slot.
Slot Details
Wild-O-Tron 3000 is a video slot with five reels, three rows and 20 fixed pay lines. Set the reels in motion on desktop or mobile from 0.20 to 200 credits. The RTP of this low to medium variance slot is set at 96.01% with a maximum win in a single spin of 500x stake for a full screen of Wild symbols. Use AutoPlay to choose 10 to 1,000 consecutive spins with a range of options as to when it should stop.
Graphics and Visuals
Set in a futuristic sci-fi world that could come straight from the mentioned E.T. movie, the frameless game window is populated by full stack robots in seven colours. The graphics are as usual top notch with some stunning animations on winning spins simulating an overarching flash in a Faraday’s cage, all accompanied by a metallic soundtrack.
Open the Wild-O-Tron 3000 slot to find a simple paytable with seven robot symbols in brown, grey, blue, green, yellow, orange and red colours. They appear stacked at all times. Wild symbol, which only appears stacked in the feature, is a W within a futuristic looking capsule, substituting for all symbols. No scatters on this slot since it does not have a bonus game or a free spins round.
The Wild-O-Tron Feature
Yes, only one feature on this game. Does not have to be a bad thing, especially when it happens as frequently as on Wild-O-Tron 3000. The feature is randomly triggered at the beginning of any spin and sees the Wild-O-Tron control centre on the right of the game window jump into action to replace one to six Robot symbols into Wild symbols, starting with the top symbol. Replacing six of the seven Robot symbols leaves just one Robot and Wild symbols on the reels, hugely increasing the chance to hit a full screen of wild symbols and leading to the maximum win on a single spin of 500x stake.
For each replaced robot the control centre illuminates one of the six lamps showing the colour of which robot is being transformed into a wild symbol. Expect to see most of the times two lights to come on, four and five are rather rare.
Final Verdict
Simple and brilliant or too simple to be brilliant? I am somewhat on the fence as I usually prefer more features on a slot and a higher win potential. However, according to NetEnt, the sole feature triggers on average every 20 spins, avoiding early boredom. The mega win alarms don’t start ringing though until at least three robots are turned into wilds.
