The smiling joker is back for another reel adventure on the slot from Play’n GO. Sticky Joker completes the half dozen of classic slots the developer released since 2016 in an effort to revive and keep the good ol’ fruit machines on the radar of casino players. Fans will be thrilled while anyone else will hardly lift an eyebrow. Especially when they see the maximum win potential peaking at just 1,650 times bet which is not all that bad for this type of slot. It comes with Wild Respins and a Multiplier Wheel to spice up the gameplay and give it a more modern touch.

Slot Details

Sticky Joker is a classic video slot in a 3×3 format with five fixed pay lines. As usual with such games, you will need three matching symbols on a line or in combination with a wild to score a win. You can delve into spinning reels from yesteryear on desktop or mobile from 0.05 to 100 credits per spin. The game has medium volatility with a default RTP of 96.74%. Some operators might offer it with different settings at 94.67%, 91.48% or lower, always read the help file to find out which version you will be playing.

A generic blue background with occasional flashing lights is all you get in terms of surrounding graphics. The colour will turn golden during the respin feature. Traditional symbols such as lemons, cherries, bars and 7s populate the reels together with the main protagonist, the Sticky Joker. We couldn’t confirm the soundscape at press time as we did not have a demo link available yet.

The pay symbols are divided into two groups, each capable of landing stacked at all times. The fruit group brings cherries, lemons, plums and grapes to the table, awarding 1x your bet for a single three of a kind. In turn, the traditional symbol group is represented by BARs, stars and 7s. Hit three on a line to win 2x to 5x your stake. The Joker Wild is the top symbol with a payout of 8x your bet and will substitute for any other symbol.

Sticky Joker Slot Features

As with all others in the Joker series, Play’n GO kept the gameplay as simple as possible. Still, you won’t hit any life-changing wins without the two features that give Sticky Joker a modern twist. The first is the Joker Respin, which is triggered whenever one or more Joker Wilds land on a spin. Any potential wins are paid before the triggering wilds are locked in place for one free respin. Land more and the process continues until no further appear or the screen is filled with Joker Wilds, which would result in a payout of just 40x your bet.

What makes the game more interesting is the Wheel of Multipliers. The wheel is activated after a respin sequence when you managed to have at least four Sticky Joker Wilds on the reels at the end of the feature. It will turn once to determine a multiplier for the total win from the triggering spin up to the end of the respin feature. Possible values are x2, x3, x4, x5 and x10. Any multiplier will reset before the next spin starts.

Final Verdict

If you read some of my reviews here at GMBLRS, then you might know by now that I am not a big fan of classic slots. Sticky Joker brings nothing to the table to change that anytime soon. It will appeal to the still large fanbase who like classic slot machines but everyone else will be hard to convince to take a spin on this game.
