Spearhead Studios emerged in November 2019 after Gaming Innovation Group decided to close their in-house studio GiG Gaming, After having released already a few slots and table games, the existing team took the reigns into their own hands and established Spearhead Studios under the umbrella of the EveryMatrix Group. With their offices in sunny Marbella, Spain, they will focus on developing online video slots and table games for regulated markets.

The rights to five games including Popstar and Book of Souls have been transferred to the new company and we expect to see them soon turning up again in a variety of casino lobbies. And since all their games are designed in the latest HTML5 format, players will be able to enjoy them on virtually any desktop, tablet or mobile device across all OS platforms.

The team at Spearhead Studios has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to disrupt the industry and become a gamechanger in the meanwhile very crowded market for online real money slots and table games. More slots are already in development and should be released in the near future, including Wilds of Wall Street, Giant Panda and Meganova.

Looking at their history, they launched their first game in 2018. Called Wild Reels is a tribute to the classic slot genre but comes with a modern twist. One to two reels are wild on every spin in the base game while traditional slot symbols like bells, sevens, bars and cherries populate the reels. A free spins round was added too, where two to three reels can turn wild on a spin.

The most successful game to date is Book of Souls. Although they took inspiration from the dozens of other “Book” slots currently populating the casino lobbies, they went to great length to include their own twist to the immensely popular reel mechanic with special expanding symbols in the free spins feature. A random feature can trigger on any spin in the base game and will add three to ten wilds to the reels, creating more chances to score a win.

In January 2020, Spearhead Studios signed its first distribution agreement with B2B multi-product provider Relax Gaming. The newly inked partnership will see Spearhead Studios’ gaming portfolio being distributed through Relax Gaming’s network of casino clients. Relax Gaming will initially launch five slots on its platform, including the successful title Book of Souls and Popstar. All following releases will be also featured on the platform.
