Review
Get ready for an encounter with the Mother of Dragons on the slot from Fortune Factory Studios, powered by Microgaming. Long Mu Fortunes will take you to the Far East to face her five dragons she raised according to Chinese mythology. They will make an appearance as wild symbols that can carry multipliers of up to x3 while a free spins round and two fixed jackpots can lead to wins of up to 5,000 times your bet.
Slot Details
Long Mu Fortunes is a video slot with five reels, three rows and 10 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for three to five matching symbols on a line from left to right only. Take a reel journey to the Fare East on desktop or mobile from 0.10 to 100 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with an RTP of 96.44%.
A pristine Asian country scene as the background to a game window that is populated with drums, Hong Bao red packets, lucky coins and gold ingots as high-value symbols. They are complemented at the low end with the card royals from J through to A. Pays for a five of a kind range from 2.5x to 50x your stake. The five dragons are wild, appearing on reels two to five only and substituting for all regular symbols. An Asian beauty acts as the scatter.
Long Mu Fortunes Slot Features
After releasing just a few weeks earlier Tiki Mania, Fortune Factory Studios is following the strategy of fellow Microgaming partner JustForTheWin by releasing two games as identical twins in quick succession. Doesn’t make sense at all to us but it seems to work for them. Well, the rating will surely not increase even if they release 100 clones.
The action on the reels starts with the nudging Red Dragon wild that can land on reel two and/or four only. It will trigger the Respin feature, expanding first and then locking in place before the reels spin one more time. Blue, Green and Yellow Dragon Wilds can now land on reels two to five, each carrying a multiplier of x1, x2 or x3. The feature continues as long as new wins occur on a respin. All multiplier wilds in view will be multiplied by each other, providing the chance for a maximum x27 win multiplier.
Tiki Mania comes with two fixed jackpots – Major at 50x and Grand at 5,000x the total bet. Any red tiki wild landing on the reels will add a gold coin to jackpot meter which can randomly trigger at end of a Respin feature to award one of the two jackpots.
Lastly, 10 free spins are triggered when you land princess scatters anywhere on reels two, three and four in one spin. There are no extra multipliers or modifiers in the bonus round, except that all wilds appearing on the centre reels will be x3 multiplier wilds. Plus, you’ll get +1 free spin for each scatter and the Respin feature can trigger too.
Final Verdict
We rated the original Tiki Mania slot with three stars, stating that it looked and played better than most Microgaming releases in 2019, which might be an upward trajectory for them to finally deliver again some exciting games that players will line up to spin the reels on. Well, releasing a clone won’t help the cause, although it comes with an increased jackpot of 5,000 times the bet, probably because the target audience for this slot are our Asian friends and Microgaming thought they need something bigger to be attracted. Either way, the slot is worth a few spins but it won’t end up on our favourites list.
